Board of Directors
Our nine member governance board is a key linchpin in the organization’s structure. The board members represent diverse professional fields including: angel investors, entrepreneurs, corporate management professionals, attorneys, nonprofit managers and academics. Geographic diversity is also important and the Board seeks to have members who represent the breadth and width of the state. Members typically serve three-year terms with a third of the board coming up for election each year. According to the by-laws, the standing committees include a Board Development Committee which nominates new board members, and a Finance Committee which oversees fund-raising.

Our 26-member Advisory Board forms a vital support group for Alaska InvestNet. Governor Walter Hickel and Senator Lisa Murkowski are honorary co-chairs of the Board. The advisors offer diverse perspectives and experiences from industries that include financial services, business consulting, software development, education, and government. The Advisory Board also mentors and supports InvestNet’s ongoing operations by facilitating introductions, brainstorming opportunities, and providing counsel. Advisory Board members have proved to be the most important channel for attracting new investors, entrepreneurs, and service providers to AIN. Each member is encouraged to invite peers to InvestNet events, growing our constituent base from the ground up.

Executive Team
Matt McDaniel is the Executive Director of Alaska InvestNet. Matt has extensive project management experience throughout rural Alaska and currently sits as a Director on the Board of the Chugach Alaska Corporation. He holds an MBA from Alaska Pacific University.
